The Future of Managed Print Blog

Just got back from Washington & the 2009 ILTA conference. ILTA, the International Legal Technology Association, represents the largest law firms across North America. Proudly supporting more than fifty law firms and associations across North America, LaserNetworks is keenly interested in understanding the next wave of technology that is or will be important to our legal clients. This year, there was some awesome voice recognition software that was of interest to many of the firms. From a Managed Print perspective, Omtool and their showcase product ‘AccuRoute’ continues to gain more attention every year. Document management, records management along with integration with key office systems were top of minds along with other integrated software solutions. These applications enable quick look-up and delivery of key documents back to the end user. Best practices of eDocument discovery, document storage and new solutions sessions were provided. ILTA provides firms the opportunity to see these solutions in action. In addition to understand the next generation of technology, it’s also a chance to connect – or reconnect with firms from Canada, USA, and Europe. LaserNetworks hosted the International Evening along with a joint Cocktail Reception with Omtool. Not surprisingly, the number of people attending the event was less than last year, although more than anticipated. Hoping this is a positive sign for both the law firms in terms of activity & the vendors in terms of future business.
